I.       DEFINITION

A Formula Junior car is built from 1958 through 1963, conforming to the F.I.A. Regulations of that time and to current Monoposto Racing Regulations.

II.     GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

        a.        Minimum wheelbase: 2000mm       Minimum track: 1100mm
b.Maximum body width: 950 mm. (measured outside)
c.Maximum engine capacity: 1100cc.
d.Minimum weight 400 Kg. measured with the car in "running order", complete, less fuel.

III.     MECHANICAL COMPONENTS

        a.         The engine, including cylinder head, must be of a type used in a car by the F.I.A. in the touring category built before December 31, 1963. Number and position of parts must be as the original touring car.
b.The gearbox must be that of an F.I.A. recognized touring car built before December 31, 1963. Complete freedom is left with regard to the number and staging of ratios. For additional gearbox information see Race Classes.
c.Brakes must be original as specified by constructor for that model. Updated brake systems acceptable if utilized by same constructor for late type Formula Junior chassis (may change class).
d.Power may only be applied to the two rear wheels.
e.The cylinder capacities specified in the regulations may be achieved only by modifying the original bore.
f. The car must have an electric starter.
g. Wheels should be of original size. Non original wheels must conform to the general aesthetic outline of the vehicle.

          Rain tires not allowed. Additional grooving or hand-cutting are not allowed.


IV.    CHASSIS
TOP
            The chassis frame must follow the original design but local stiffening is permitted. Suspension shall not be adjustable unless originally manufactured in this form.

V.     BODY
TOP
              An open single seater conforming to the original design with permissible modifications restricted to replacement panels of alternative materials

VI.     PROHIBITIONS
TOP
           It is not permitted:
           a.         To use an engine with one or more overhead camshafts
           b.         To use a self locking torque biasing, limited slip or locked differential or any form of locked axle.
           c.         To change the number of crankshaft bearings.
           d.         To change the location of the camshaft.
           e.         To modify the stroke.
           f.         To change the type or make of engine originally fitted.
           g.         To display any advertising decal other than the car manufacturer's official emblem or that of a series or race                sponsor.
           h.         To change the location of the ports in the cylinder head.

VII.     EXCEPTIONS

              It is permitted to strengthen the chassis as required to support roll bars, seat belt anchors, fire bottles, or any other equipment which increases the safety factor of the vehicle
